While the location was superb and the staff were genuinely welcoming, my stay at The Hotel Emerald left much to be desired. The room cleanliness was disappointing, and the breakfast provided was underwhelming. I had a frustrating experience with the payment process that really soured my visit.
Rooms

My room was not properly cleaned and had a lingering odor, which was quite off-putting. The bathroom setup was inadequate as it only offered flimsy wooden separations.
Service

The staff were friendly and tried to help, but the manager's loud handling of the payment issue was unprofessional. It's a shame since the staff seemed genuinely nice.

On the bright side, the location is fantastic, right in downtown Cairo and close to main sights. I enjoyed wandering the area for dining and shopping options.
Dining

Breakfast was pretty poor. It consisted of some sandwiches with just a single egg, which was not enough. I saw that the staff had much more appealing options but weren't serving them to guests, which felt unfair.
Facilities

The hotel's facilities were lacking, especially regarding overall maintenance. While there was a TV in the lobby, the one in my room didn't work.

My stay at The Hotel Emerald had its ups and downs. The staff were genuinely welcoming and helpful, which made navigating the bustling streets of Cairo much more enjoyable. However, the bathroom setup in my room was quite odd, lacking proper privacy, and the persistent cigarette smell from previous visitors was hard to ignore.

The room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was literally an open cubicle within the room, which felt awkward. The smell of cigarettes lingered, possibly from past guests, and I wished the window opened for fresh air.
